    NEED HELP

I just purchased a 2005 21xd a few months ago and I had a problem a couple of times. It will not take gas the tank has less than 1/2 off tank and I can only get it to take 1/4 of a gallon. To get it to take gas I have to take the vent tube loose at the tank. When I take it off you can hear the air coming from the tank. I will then blow in the vent tube and some gas is present in that tube. Does anybody know why it is not venting

    Re: NEED HELP (BULLET FAN)

    Hmm.

I know some of the older boats guys had issues with but as far as I know it was because the lines usually had a diup in them. The lines need to be straight. I had an issue the 1st time I filled my tank. I got the fill hose to run straight and have had zero issues. I can hear air flowing out vent line while filling. I have never had fuel in vent hose.

My suggestion is to just make sure your fill tub does not have any dips in it. I know its simple but it could be just that easy.

Sounds like the lines are to long. Can you shorten them? I had the same problem after I moved my tank back an inch.

Do you know where the vent line comes out? The last Bullet I had It was just behind the passenger seat on the outside of the boat.

Should be the same place no? Maybe you got different fuel fills and the vent is built into the neck?

Follow the vent line and see where it runs to..

My 21XRD doesn't take fuel worth a crap.I have to hold the vent line up to get it to take fuel without spitting it up.

They both go to the cap. Just shorten them at the tank

I have a 04 21xdc that doesnt take gas very well .I also have to take the vent hose off to fill. If you start out slow and get a good rythum goin it should fill a little faster. Give that atry or try shortning the hose like people are suggesting

    Re: NEED HELP (scstarr)

Ususally shortening the vent line helps, some times gas will get sloshed around when boating and get in the vent line and sit in the dip when the line is too long..

I used to just pull the vent line off the tank when filling, then shortened the vent line and problem went away .

Also use some paper towels and after inserting the nozzel wrap them around the fill hole and nozzel this will make a seal and help force the gass in
