Had a question for the experts, I own a new 225 Opti with 8 hours on it and I noticed engine oil leaking into the splash well. Took the cover off and found the source to be the engine mounted reservoir. The oil was leaking from the top cap where the two wires go in. Is there anyway to adjust this or does the tank have to be replaced? Any input would be appreciated.

There have been other post about it and the cap is the culprit. Maybe someone with first hand knowledge will comment on the solution.....just cap or whole reservoir replacement. Your dealer should warranty it

If the cap is leaking, it is likely cause by:
-Loose cap
-Missing or damaged cap seal
-Cracked or damaged cap
A leaking cap will spew oil everywhere.... masking the "actual" leak.
If indeed yours is leaking at the sensor, that will require replacement of the OIL TANK.
Either item should be covered under warranty.
Do not run the engine until this has been corrected, however.
