I was at West Marine today and they have the HDS 5 & 7 on clearance for outrageous prices. I think its just the chartplotters but i seen the the HD5 on sale for 499 with a $100 mail in rebate! so thats only 399.

bought a HDS5 @ Academy for $399. less 100$ Mail-in rebate = $299
gonna go seach a few academy's and if they have any left in getting one today

No, but you can use it with these. That unit is $600+ just for that.
Was more expensive, but from everything I've heard, it is not as good and it will not accept the LSS-1 if you decide to do that later on.
I was looking at the Elite5 DSI, but the more $ part killed it

lowrance just put out a 150 rebate on the LSS1 modules too
If you can find a worker thats not too lazy in academy, they can search all there stores on the computer and tell you were something is.

Well I already bought the Elite 5 in January. Will just us the basic GPS and depth finder. Don't plan on upgrading.
went to both Lafayette academies and neither had any. They did have a Gen1 HDS7 that they wanted $799 for but it was the display so i asked them if i buy the display will they knock any more off it and they said NO. So i didnt buy.
