set up question on my bass boat

hey i have a 21 ft aries bass boat and a 225 efi. im thinking that my motor is to high but everyone seems to be runing about 3 or 3 1/2 under pad and thats what my motor is set at im haveing a hard time geting any bow lift just wondering what changes i would see if it where lowered to say like 4 or 4/12 im geting like 28% slip out of my 27 tempest. that seems like alot to me. one time i ran my boat with like now gear and very low fuel and the bow was hard to see over and it ran 78 but with some gear and fuel it feels like the bow is to low and its runing low 60s

28% slip is entirely too high!

What is your WATER PRESSURE and RPM at WOT, loaded as you would "most commonly" load the boat?

Note: Engine height adjustments should be made in "small increments" of approximately 1/4". I don't recommend jumping in increments above 1/4", unless it's determined that the setup has been "tampered with substantially".

it stays in the 20s but the bow dont lift much like it did when i ran my buddys tempest 27 it should be the same prop as i got but it dont seem to be even close and after i ran his prop i tough it would be perfect so i got one and it isnt the same at all . i ran it all different places and it dont seem to make a bit of difference went 4 1/2 under pad to about even with the pad but it just dont lift much anywhere RPM 58 59

try a different prop, just because it's a 27 doesn't mean that it's not hosed up, i've got a 26 tempest that won't lift the bow on a aluminum jon boat with a 250 it's so hosed up, put my old 25 tempest on and it has plenty of lift.

I agree- TRY A DIFFERENT PROP. "All props are NOT created "equal" (and once they've been worked- there is no "fair comparison").

Sounds like it's time for a different prop (or send that one off to Mark Croxton... be sure to tell him what it's doing!)
