    Neutral Rev

I have a 2005 proxs and last night I was loading her up on the trailer and I accidentally hit the hot foot while not in gear (throttle was in locked position) and I reved a little not sure how high bit it sure didn't sound very high maybe 2000.... Just this little rev was enough to get a chirp from the engine alarm. Just one very short beep. Is it possible this wasn't related to the neutral rev?

    Thanks,
    Kent

Possible but not very likely. Both my daughter and one of my fishing partners have done the same thing.

    Re: Neutral Rev (AveryF)

If you rev to 2000 in neutral it will cut the RPM's and sound the warning horn.

Really annoying when the neutral switch goes out and the PCM "thinks" you are in N when you are trying to get the boat up on pad.

Neutral Overspeed faults can occur at RPM's as low as 1200 RPM's (depending on the calibration and the accuracy of your tachometer).

Optimax engines should not be revved in Neutral.
