just installed a new 250xs myself. seems to trim up the first part of the way fine as well as go down fine. seems the last part(tilt) is jerky in motion? any ideas. low oil?

airlock in the line is possible or debris. check the hookups connections and/or the ram seals.
Check the trim fluid level (and quality). Ensure that all grease zerks (including those on the steering tube) are properly lubricated. Ensure that the "balls" on the end of the trim rams are properly lubricated.
And finally- check the TORQUE on the nut for the steering "through tube". Occassionally, during installation, someone holds one of the nuts, overtightening the through-tube retaining nut (proper torque is 45 ft. lbs).![]()
