I got a couple of questions

My brotherinlaw just bought a boat with 1996 Mercury XR6 150.
what is the best oil to use? Qick silver ok?
there is two lines on the oil tank I am assuming that one is to pressurize the tank and the other is for the oil. Is that right? Just gotta make sure that the tank is sealed?

Re: I got a couple of questions (BennyF)

I always ran the Pennzoil through my EFI Merc. Check the tank on the Motor and if it is staying filled after running the system should be good to go. However i will tell you this, If it was mine id disable the oil injection and premix. that oil system uses a bullchit lill plastic gear, when it goes so does tha motor, I Know From experience! Hope this helps.

1996????? disable the oil injection and pre-mix i would also pull off all module box's " warning & timing" and statically set timing

How do you rewire the high temp alarm after injection removal?

I have a 1996 150efi and have run quicksilver since I bought it.
I have premixed since I got it since it was already set up like that .

I got the same motor and been running quicksilver for 5 years now. **knock on wood no problems yet**. Like them other guys said, deffinatly take off the oil injection and premix. My stepdad wouldn't listen to me last year and lock his motor up.

Since I removed the oil injection I no longer have the alarm when I first turn the switch on.
