You hit a wake doing 80+mph? I was testing my Prop after getting it back from Croxton today on the river, Granted I only have a Skeeter, But i was maxed out at 72mph, Full load and full of gas SOLO going down river when a boat passed in front of me! I think my whole boat came outa the water when i hit that wake! Scared tha Chit outa me! Got me thinkin what yall do when that happens and yall runnin 80+

There's a time and a place to haul ass and it's in clean water with no other boats around. Bad things happen quick when you're rollin.

Thats what i was thinkin! Still would be nice to have and 80+mph boat and be cruzin at 70 rather than Maxed out. Thinkin im gettin all i can outa my 200 on a 20ft 1800+lb hull. Damn boat is huge and could handle a 250 buts rated for a 200

Like Kyle said, there is a time and place. The advantage is being able to run 70 and save on fuel.

With that said, how long did you have to stay in the Emergency Room, cause I know you had to bust a kidney in that Skeeter????????

Dlab when you seen a boat coming slow down some and you might wanna bump the trim down and turn head on into the wake so it wont hit the side of your boat.Would not take much to get tossed out your boat or lose control and hit another boat or the bank.

last thing you want to do is let out of he throttle. bump the trim down and turn into the wake as said in above post. if you are running 80+ and let off of the throttle the boat will fall off of the pad and hook.
time and a place for it no doubt .even then you have to be on your toes. its not jus wakes, but a sudden gust of wind will take you off of the pad too.

I'm saying do this BEFORE you pass the boat, not while it's happening Buddy, i should have been more specific i guess.Blazers do not hook when they come off the pad at 80,but i can't tell you if they will past that....

In my big ol barge it is just like hitting a speed bump. But as Buddy says you have to trim down. No problem at all.

Depends on the said wake.....but if its just a regular fishing/bass boat, I don't even slow down.....you barely feel it.

Dougs like me, we trim down and were closer to 50 than 70

Now them barge rollers are a different story.....you better slow down if you value your life, boat, etc.
