    '99 225 efi pee stream

Started the boat for the first time since winterizing. When winterized, I had the impeller replaced. When I started her up (on the muffs) the pee stream began immediately. With the old impeller, the boat would have to warm up for a few minutes before the pee stream began and would be weak. I dunno if I should be happy that the pee stream began so quickly and strongly, or alarmed that it did not have to warmup. Ambient air temperature was about 55 degrees.

Assuming that your serial number is ACTUALLY: 0G883232 (verify second character is actually a "G"):

This 3L engine should have a relatively strong "telltale stream" as soon as adequate water supply has filled the engine block. This can take up to 30-40 seconds after engine startup.

Sounds like yours is functioning properly.... it was probably "high time" for that impeller replacement.

I asked my mechanic the same question about my 98 225 efi and he said that the water wouldn't come out until the motor reached the temp. got hot enough to need it.

My engine is a 1999 225 EFI OG825276 and mine does what Don said. Especially after the new impeller it has a STRONG stream . And it starts streaming in less than 30 secs.

2.5L models will do as above described.

3.0L models, on the other hand, should have a telltale stream as soon as the block has filled with coolant.
