    4 mo old gas?

I used marine formula stabil, and filled the tank to the top with higher octane to prevent buring too low of octane fuel. Is it normal to lose a little speed from older gas. I would think with the cool weather we have and great water conditions this thing would be hauling. Instead I've lost about 2-3 mph. The only thing I can think of is when I douched up the cylinders with all that prem plus oil is that one or more of the plugs may have fouled a tad as I did let it idle for about 10 min plus on its first warm up after winterizing it. I guess I'll burn the rest of the old gas and try new plugs and get back to you.

I guess I'm asking if that is a good direction to go?
    Thanks.
