    New Orleans FOOD?

I posted this in the lounge as well, but thought I'd post here as well. I'm in New Orleans for the week and need advice on some good local food. Not looking for any kind of chain restaurants, or fancy schmancy stuff. We're looking for some authentic, down home cajun eats here guys. Places the locals know and love, hole in the wall joints, or other kinds of dives that serve up the goods New Orleans style. Doesn't have to be right in the city, but definitely close by if not. Thanks!!

Deanie's Seafood one block off Bourbon Street. Ralph and Kacoos near Bourbon Street also. The Crazy Lobster on the river between the aquarium and riverwalk. Ate there last time I was in New Orleans.

And I'm free Thursday if you want to go make a fishing trip or private swamp tour. I'm about 45 minutes from New Orleans.

    I've always enjoyed Mulate's. Here's a link for reference... http://www.mulates.com/

Ralph and Kacoo's is another good spot. Most of my trips to NO are a bit hazy after a night or two on Bourbon St. Just stay away from the lucky dogs and you should be fine.

Always forget about Mulates. If you go, call and get a reservation. They are always busy.

I love the Redfish grille on Bourbon st. Its on the first block so if you don't like bourbon st it not way down there. I get the hickory grilled redfish w/ crabmeat sauce.
