I have a 2005 225 Pro XS. Warranty is up this April. I got one of the first ones out back then. My 5 year warranty is up this spring. Can you "Simonize" a Pro XS or do some stuff that will get me significant additional HP? Thanks fellas !!!

You sure can but the Simon/Hydro Tec combined mods are better still![]()

My issue is do I wait until my warranty is out in April 2011 or trade for a 250 Pro XS now while I still have 1 year left on the warranty. The 250 would come with a 5 year warranty but is the trade cost worth it compared to my 225 Pro XS with the Simon/HT mods? And would the mods be trouble free and reliable? My dealer tells me I would definitely see an all around jump in performance with the 250 Pro XS. SOMEBODY MAKE A DECISION FOR ME!!![]()

I believe you could probably get the same out of the 225 as you could the 250 other than the warranty.Build it baby, I say build it![]()

Wow, so you can actually purchase an extended type warranty once the original expires?? How does it compare to the original?? Would standard opti's apply as well?
thanks![]()

What WE offer is actually "Extended Product Protection Plans" through Mercury Marine. This coverage must be purchased within the first THREE YEARS of the original warranty (and is actually cheaper if purchased within the FIRST year of standard warranty coverage).
The plan covers much the same components as are covered by the factory warranty (excludes maintenance items, hoses, and seals). Repairs covered under the plan are performed by Mercury Authorized Dealers (and claims are processed just like a standard warranty claim).![]()

Well so much for that, my warranty expires next year and for a minute there I thought I was going to get lucky.Just had no idea it had to be purchased within the first three years
