    Fuel Filter Question

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me the difference of a Mercury Fuel filter kit P.N. 18458Q4 and a FUEL WATER SEPARATOR FILTER (SIERRA) P.N. SIE18-7968 for a 1999 225 EFI .

    Thanks
    Keith

The OEM filter part numbers suitable for your engine are:

    35-18458T4 (Mercury Brand)
    35-18458Q4 (Quicksilver Brand)

The Sierra 18-7968 is an "aftermarket replacement" for the Quicksilver filter.

IMHO.... I'd stick with the Mercury or Quicksilver if AT ALL possible.
