If we could identify yours.... that would help to "narrow the list".

I'd recommend by starting with an inspection of the spark plug wires (look for signs of spark leakage), fuel filter (check for water in fuel), and inspect the engine wiring harness (cannon plug) for dirty or "loose" pins.

mine used to do the same thing and i just had my PCM go out last weekend. i'm not sure if the two things are related but i thought i would throw it out there.
