    OMC controls on a Merc

I have an Evinrude and I am switching to a merc. I have the new style BRP shifter and I noticed there are two sets of cable hook ups. One set pushs which is for BRP motors but the other set pulls like mercs do. Is this other set for mercs so the controls are universal? Or are they for something else?

You'll not be able to properly handle the shift commands of a Merc engine with your "BRP" control box.

In most cases, you'll need to change out (at a minimum):

    -Keyswitch harness
    -Instrument Harness
    -Control Box
    -Control Cables
    -Oil tank
    -Trim Gauge

Also wise to consider a "Smartcraft Instrument".
