    Couple of questions.....

I know both clubs have had fun with the LSU-Arkansas game and the wager last week. But I do have a question, and since we got welcomed to the Louisiana board, thought I would take you guys up on the offer.

Whenever my family and I are driving down to Gulf Shores, we pass Lake Providence. Looks like an old oxbow off the Mississippi River and looks a little better than Lake Chicot in SE Arkansas.

What info can you guys offer as far as fishing, quality, etc. Would this be a good lake for family to enjoy?

Also, anyone have an idea what the price of out of state license would be? What about kids...are licenses required for the fishing?
    Thanks...

Lake Providence is by far one of my favorite lakes to fish!! It's only bout 45 mins from where I live. The bass fishing is great and can be outstanding if you catch them just right! And there are some Toads in there...i've seen 20 - 25 lbs. stringers come out of there!
The bream fishing is awesome over there too in late spring/early summer...my grandma and grandpa used to go there every year and catch anywhere between 40 - 80+ a trip!

Like you said, It's an oxbow and alot like chicot, just not near as big...And it is a nice place to take the family or friends and hang out and ski and what not....

We used to buy salvage in Jackson and made that trip once a week. I've never seen a boat out there.
Always thought it must be off limits to boats?
Guess I thought wrong. (1st time for everything.... )
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

Fishing is great at times on Providence. I won a club tourny over there a couple of years ago with 3 fish that weighed 17lbs.
