Any of you guys using fluorocarbon?

Seems like fluorocarbon line has become pretty popular over the years. I guess because it becomes almost invisible under water. Right now I use braid almost exclusively except for crankbaits. I always thought that we didn't need fluorocarbon down here because the water tends to be pretty stained. What do you think?

I'm the same as you, have other stuff on the extra rods and reels but mostly use Power Pro.

I use the berkley flourocarbon on all my rods except my flippin rod which i use power pro......the 17 lb seems to work well for me in most all situations......good stuff just expensive.

I have been using the 15# on a couple of rods (one soft plastics pitching rod, and a senko rod), and the 20# on one jig pitching rod for several months now. I'm using the Seagar invsi-X. I like it a lot, and have not changed line nearly as often as with mono, which offsets the extra cost a good bit.

All I can say is give it a try, and see what you think. I highly recommend using some line conditioner, with the 20# especially. The 15# is a very good handling line in my opinion. Both seem to be atleast as tough as any mono of the same rating that I have ever used....JMHO

I started using it this year on my shaky head rod and i love it...i like it b/c it's very abrasion resistant and it has a little less stretch than mono... I use 15-20# P-Line Flouroclear for my Jig and Worm rod. it's a Flourocarbon coated Co-polymer line and i LOVE it...it's Real strong and has a little less stretch than mono (seems to help in making sure you get a good hook in em!) and is really sensitive.. just my 2 cents!

So why are some of you folks using fluorocarbon over braid?

+1 except I use braid on my flippin sticks and frog rods.

I had really bad experiences with flouro a few years back. I think it was 15 & 17 lb test that i tried. I broke off on a lot of fish. Got my goat so badly i haven't been back. Maybe i was letting my palomar knots twisting or something or my spit was too dry, but it just kept breaking. I've been tempted to try that Segar invisx (same Robert was talking about), but just haven't bought any. P Line CXX & Spectrex 30lb.

I use flouro on Toledo because of the clear water. It has proved itself there, because my buddy was using braid and he got his azz whipped when fishing the deep grass lines. Flipping shallow water here or there, I am strictly braid.
