I am looking on the mercury parts website for the thermostats for my pro xs serial 1B735736. Does anyone know the part number for this part?

I found the thermostats. They are 77 dollars each!!!
Yes, they are very pricey. The good news is.... you can usually "disassemble, clean, and reassemble" this particular thermostat.
So don't throw the old ones away..... take them apart, clean them with detergent (and perhaps an old toothbrush), then reassemble and save them as "spares" for future use.![]()

Don,
How many hours do thermostats last in a 250 pro xs? I run on the east coast of MD where air temp is as hot as 95 in the Summer and as cold as 35 in the Winter. At what point do I know that it is time to replace rather than refurbish an old thermostat?
Thanks!

I would hesitate to place a "set time" on this. Essentially, any time your engine temps (at idle) are outside of their recommended parameters (on the 250 ProXS, it can range from 115-145 approximately at idle), especially over any sustained time, the thermostats should be considered "suspect".![]()
