Looking to go fishing with the children this weekend at either Kincaid or Cotile. Anyone know if the water is clear and the bream are biting? I'll do some bass fishing for the first hour or so then it's all for the kiddos. Thanks in advance.

Wish i could tell you. I know this was a while back but at Easter the water was a little stain at Cotile, Kincaid usually is clear but haven't been there in a while. Although i live down the road from them, i only fish them a few times a year. Just don't like the lakes. Have though about Chicot in Ville Platte? That's usually a great place for bream. I had a friend from Lafayette that wanted to fish so i met him at Chicot. We caught 4 bass in the slot and one over. I also seen some guys picking up some bream.

Actually, I had not thought about Chicot. Thanks, that may be a little easier on the gas. I fish Kincaid more than Cotile and usually do very well on bass on both but I have a hard time locating any nice size bream for the kids. We catch a bunch of small ones with maybe 8 - 10 nice keepers. Chicot may get the nod this Saturday. Thanks again.![]()
No problem. If you do go there and fish for bass, try throwing a topwater bait in the thick duck weed in back of coves. I caught my 6 lber doing that and missed a few other fish.![]()

my grandfather lives on kincaid and went bream fishing this week and he said he did pretty well. if you put in a the landing on masina rd when you put in go kinda of catacorner to your right and strait across. or around the public beaches. any place that has pretty sandy banks should be good
