Where can I find spray paint for a Johnson 130HP 1995. It looks like a dark shade of charcoal. Anybody know the paint color and where to find a can or two?

The color is called "Smoke" and it's very difficult to match with a shaker can.
Your local JohnnyRude dealer can get it for you. P/N 777177.
Another option would be to take the manufacturers paint code to a paint shop and ask them to match it for you. The PPG paint code is 35718, which is a "light industrial" paint, and not an automotive paint (you need to tell the paint guy this). The only catch in going this route, is there are actually several shades of this color. I recently painted a motor cover and the paint shop had sample chips to compare to the original paint. It was a little more expensive, but I got an exact match.![]()

Hi Scubatelco,
I have the same motor,i got my paint at my OMC dealer it is called Touch-up Paint, the color is called SMOKE hope this helps you. Now could i ask you a question ? my motor idles verry rough cleaned carbs new kits, runs verry well at 2000 rpm to 6000 nice and smooth. Do you have this problem? thanks--Claude![]()
Claude, Thanks for tips on the colors and I had what could be the same trouble. The local repair shop rebuilt all the carbs, didn't help, found out that the electronics(don't remember the name he called it) under the flywheel was not installed correctly by someone before I bought the boat and the fly wheel rubbed a hole through the cover and was shorting it out. $700.00 later, it runs like a top now.![]()

John, thanks for the part numbers and the advise. I live pretty close to you. I am in Wonder Lake, Il. Did you put new decals on after you repainted? My decals are shot also but the lens' are good. I found the Johnson parts catalog from another post and it lists all the parts including the paint. Does anyone know if you can still get the decals from OMC?

Yep you can still get them, P/N's are for the 130 Lens 0341339 approx $40 ea you need 2, 0340509 Johnson Logo lens approx. 13.50 ea you need 2 and the big Johnson lens 0340591 approx $25 ea, qty 2 hope this helps ya. CM
Thanks Champ, The lens's are in pretty good shape, what is bad is the decals(the red striping) around the bottom of the cover. Is it possible to gently pull the lens's off, repaint the whole cover and then glue them back on? I don't want to spend a lot just to paint the cover. Most the the cover paint is OK but the hand hold paint is blistered off at the edges. Can't see just repainting the hand hold part. Should I repaint the whole motor?![]()

Yep you should paint the whole motor, as it will be difficult to make it look good due to sun fade. You can get the lens' off with a heat gun or a blow dryer and put them face down on a flat surface, get the paint code and have the whole motor sprayed, search below on painting DoFerGofer did an exellent job on his motor. Good luck. CM![]()
Thnaks for the tip Champ. This is my winter project.
