I read in the La. Sportsman that it has indeed picked up..but I have never fished it myself....would like to learn it & fish it some being it's close to home...Ricky196

I had some nice days on the river at the end of the summer and some of the fall. I haven't been back to fish it since duck season started. I've passed over Bayou Nepiquez, which I10 passes over, and it's muddy. It's muddy at the Mermentau bridge and also the Lake Arthur bridge, so I'd say it's muddy after all of the rain a few weeks ago. But ya never know, you may find some clear water coming out of the swamp somewhere along the river. Be careful you don't start fishing anywhere near some duck decoys, you may get peppered with steel!!! I know because i used to hunt on the river. Good luck
