The fuel filter is screwed into the top of the VST (Vapor Separator Tank), on the PORT (or left) side of the engine. It has a "star" shaped RED TOP.
To remove, it is necessary to carefully pry the ball and socket joint apart at the TPS, so as to move the link arm out of the way.
The filter can usually be removed by turning "counterclockwise" with a screwdriver.
There is also a special tool designed for this purpose (only a few dollars).
In a pinch.... you can use the star washer from a Standard Flo-Thru Torque hub... then insert a prop nut into the recess of the star washer and utilize a 1-1/16" socket on the nut.![]()
