    250XB oil tank problem

Here's the deal. I can fill up the reservior on the motor and when I tilt it up to travel the reservior gets low and the low oil buzzer goes off. If I fill it at the lake it stays completely full till I tilt it for travel. Put another cap on it already and that's not it. No noticable amounts of oil in the cowl area either. Any ideas?

There are one way check valves between the 2 tanks. Don should will be able to tell you where they are. But your oil is syphoning back.

You need to look for a brass "tee" in the line- has only two lines attached- one is "open".

That's likely your problem.... there's an updated "4psi" unit available to solve the "disappearing oil syndrome".

are you talking about the one on the side of the engine reservoir. I thought it was an overpressure relief valve but you are saying it also should be a one way check valve. Correct? You know the part number for the updated tee?

    Part# 22-42425-4

This "Tee" functions as a "check valve" also.... in the event that the oil feed line from the boat becomes "restricted"... it allows air to be drawn in through the "open" nipple, so that the engine mounted tank can "feed" the oil injection system (for the remainder of it's volume, anyway).

Thanks for the info Don. Been scratching my head over this. Not mentioned in service manual or I just missed it. I did the cap and the check valve on the side of the block that feeds the remote tank.
