EVERYONE PLEASE READ/SEE PIC. what fuel is doing to your fuel lines. F/U pics

there has been alot of discussion about how the ethanol in fuel is detieriorating the older mecury, well all fuel lines for that matter. i wanted to post these pics so eveyone can see what the fuel is doing. i hope this makes a few people take 5 minutes and remove the primer bulb and check there hoses and save them future problems. this is off of a 2007 triton tr20x with a 225 pro xs. i would suggest getting the NEW mercury fuel line to replace all the stock, from the pulse pump all the way to the tank. if anyone has a triton boat i can help give inst. for tank removal. takes about 2hrs total. also, your local dealer may not have the NEW hose. if not contact european marine, they have it. tr20x takes 18ft of hose.
pics are as follows- from primer bulb connection going back to the motor. after about 1.5ft of hose it clears up.

    Great pictures!

My boat is getting new fuel line ANNUALLY from here on out. It's just my opinion, but a few dollars in fuel line is a small price to pay to have some assurance that I'm not pumping "crap" into my pumps, filters, injectors, etc.

Great Pictures - Now I'm nervous again. How do you tell if you have the new fuel lines or not? I have a 2009 20x3

The inside of my fuel lines had come apart into small pieces, it was amazing the engine still ran. It now has the new black 3/8" merc lines with a new bulb.

Question?I have been using "Startron" which is intended to "minimize" the effects of ethanol. In addition, there is the new Stabil which also is intended to minimize the effects of ethanol. If we have been using either of these products(or others?) do we need to be concerned also? Thanks.

    I am!

My boat got brand new lines this year- and will get brand new lines in the spring (regardless). I plan to slice open the current line at that time, and monitor the effects (it's a 4 stroke, so I'm using only Marine Stabil in it).
