    08' 250 ProXS ??????????

I get a solid beep at times around 4000 RPMS, I let off throttle, get back into it and the alarm goes away. I recently added a new jackplate and the fellow who installed the jackplate pulled the alarm and said it was a port side overheat (27 times) & the motor has 147 hours on it, have noticed that the water pressure is 2 - 4 at idle and 14 -16 at WOT (6000 RPM'S) recently. Water pump, impellor or popet valve????? Is any of this covered by Mercury? Does anyone know of a good service department in Cincinnati? Thanks

Your idle water pressure is within spec, but you are actually at the BARE MINIMUM water pressure at WOT.

Your engine height MAY be too high... or you may need to plug 2 or three of the upper "side water inlets" (see post pinned at the top of the forum).

Aside from that... start with a fresh water pump, and thermostat inspection (replace as needed). Check BOTH thermostats- you CAN get a port overheat from an issue with the Starboard thermostat.

Thermostats should be "tested, inspected, or replaced once per year, or every 100 hours, whichever comes FIRST".
