250 xb and I still want more what can I do to it?
How can I get the xb to really come to life? It is strong now but I feel like I should consider a few mods to bring it to its potential any ideas?

You might speak with Eric Simon (simonmotorsports), or Richard (I think his BBC name is Kllr Bee). Both have some experience with mods on the XB.
Whatever you do- make sure you keep it "rich".

How much do you want to spend is the question. flywheel, heads, intake, programmer etc etc.

That is the main question. You got the dough you can make a bunch-a-power. Start by raising the small cowl on the motor. Send me your email and I will send you some pics. rshaling@bellsouth.net

I am thinking I want to get to 325hp if I can do it, without spending enough to buy a 300. 1-2 thousand? Hoping heads and ecu might get it there.

Re: 250 xb and I still want more what can I do to it? (mcstr21)
Personally, Richard is the ticket IMHO given that you are starting with a 250 XB. He most likely will recommend a set of 300 PM heads and then CNC cut them to 61 and 59 CC respectively. He then will tell you to purchase or have programmed an ECU to 300 PM specs and still use your 250 fuel ECU. Not speaking for Richard, but I have followed many of his threads with interest.
Can be done for less than 2K. Will it measure 325HP? Not sure if anyone has ever dyno'd that combination. Eric Simon advertises a 3.0L at 335hp and I can not imagine that there are a whole lot of differences between his and what was recommended. Granted, the motor would not be balanced and blueprinted, but that itself would not make a lot of additional HP IMHO. Hope that I have helped.

eric has built a 3.0 liter into a 3.3 378hp beast check out the vid on his website.

I believe 378 is crankshaft horepower on that motor. I have spoken with Eric and he is aces in my book. He also offers the parts to purchase. That I can not do .I can just point you in the right direction to get all the 3 liter has to offer. All of the things I put for you guys to read come from trial and error and I have made quite a few errors.

Re: 250 xb and I still want more what can I do to it? (kllr bee)
375 HP is prop power. But it requires the stroker crank. I think Eric told me it costs 4k by itself. He can get the 335 HP with out the crank. 492 slayer has that version. I had him rebuild my 225 Opti and just do the minor stuff (I.E. ECU and Flywheel) and I can put out 281 HP at the crank. If you are looking to push over the 300 HP mark thou you are looking at way more than $2k.

Richard can heads been done without remap or would it been to lean for the additional heat created by added compresion?

Re: 250 xb and I still want more what can I do to it? (mcstr21)
Yes heads can be done. All your doing is putting the same fuel/air mixture in a smaller space. Best bang for the buck I believe. The video of the 3.3 with 378 hp is on a crankshaft dyno not propshaft. I am not knocking Eric's work in any way but that is what I saw on the video on Simons website. Look for yourself and while your there look at the red and white Bullet 20 XF comp on the front page. That's mine now but it has a 250 XB that I built on it. It WILL go faster than 71. I would love to find a prop dyno near Birmingham so I could see what numbers it pulls. Anyone know of one.

Re: 250 xb and I still want more what can I do to it? (kllr bee)
I will check it out. Thinking about a set of 300 heads, so I will still have factory ones if something were to go wrong. Any body got a set?
