    Spark plug gap

    Don,

I just ordered some NGK IZFR6J plugs for my 06 Pro Xs and noticed on the invoice that it states - " DO NOT GAP IRIDIUM PLUGS, YOU WILL SNAP THE CENTER ELECTRODE." At $12.30 a piece I don't want to break a plug.

In your sticky up top you note -2006 & up: .040" gap for best idle performance. (225-250 ProXS/XS)

At $12.30 a piece I don't want to break a plug trying to adjust the gap. Do I leave them as is or what?

    Thanks....

    Re: Spark plug gap (PATRO)

On a 225 ProXS with NO IDLE ISSUES-

Do not attempt to regap the plugs. You would see no benefit from doing so.

The .040 gap is PRIMARILY for 250 XS and 250 ProXS engines (or some 225's with idle quality issues).
