    draining trim fluid?

    My trim fluid got contaminated and is causing jerky down tilt operation....What is the best way to flush and replace the fluid (98ym, 225 vindicator)..<>rob<>..

    Your not going to like this but the best way is to remove the trim unit and drain the fluid.

    ...Fresh water use only.....Just tip it over and drain it out ?? Work unit up and down ??

    Could try and suck it out with a shop vac and a hose inside the fill hole.

    Yes, tilt it out and drain it, work it up and down and refill.

    my trick. i bought one of thoose nice vaccum tools at autozone. i drain everything with that thing. just put the tube in fill resevoir and pump it dry. works great on the truck--power steering fluid-trans fluid-bleeding brake lines in truck and trailer

    ..Vacume sounds good to me...what about the fluid thats up in the rams? should I have the system in the down or up position??...<>rob<>...
