Mapquest is taking me down 169 to Tulsa on my trip to lake Fork. Is 169 a good road? I've not gone that route yet? Thanks!!

169 is fine, you won't have any problems, there are a few small towns you'll pass by where the local police like to set up..

I took 69 down from 435 a couple of weeks ago when I went down to the boat show in Pittsburg. It was a pretty good road all the way down. There was one section of about 15 miles of two lane due to construction.
I have heard that 169 south of Olathe is one of the deadliest hwy's in the state, I suppose maybe because of a lot of smaller town folks boozing up in KC, then heading home on the poorly lite, curvey highway... I dunno... But I have a feeling you won't be boozing it up in KC and then pulling out at midnight to get to Fork so I'm betting you'll be ok![]()
get on hwy 75 instead...straight shot to tulsa and then to lake fork. That is the way I always go...never had a problem. Cant wait to head down that route again in June for the annual Lake Fork trip!!!

I hit 75 for a while. I can do 69, 169, and 75 really. It looks like a logical path and I can hit Academy Sports in Tulsa going this way.
I'm not sure where Bellevue is, but from KC 69 is the fastest.![]()

Real trucks dont have spark plugs, Dodge makes it Cummins shakes it
I'm coming from the west side of KC (I435) so the same difference. I went down 69 in the past. I checked the mileage and mapquest shows the 169 route to be a little faster than the 69 route. Do you go the "big cabin" way or the Tulsa way? I've done both of those and the Tulsa route seemed quicker.
Were going down next Friday.

Through Big Cabin. I went to school in KC with two guys from Paris, TX. They would alway take 69 through Big cabin.

I would think you could take 169 without a problem
Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!
