prop bent need new hub or shaft bent?

shaft does not appear to wobble without prop on. prop does when on shaft. so does the hub on the shaft by itself you can wiggle it. I assume the hub is the problem. can you tell me If i am right and what kind of hub I need to buy? I dont know what this one is called

I would recommend that you re-install the propeller with a 835257K6 Mercury Hub Kit, then recheck it to see if it "wobbles".

Torque propeller nut (using the above described hub kit*) to a minimum of 100 ft. lbs.

Check E-Bay... usually can pick up the standard kits pretty cheap.

Just MAKE SURE that you bought the CORRECT hub kit. It will have a "conical sleeve" that slides into the "front end" of the hub (centering it on the shaft, and essentially making it SOLID inside).

ALL of Mercury's "Flo-thru" torque hubs will "fit" your propeller... but only this one is the "correct" one for the application.

When you put the prop back on take a long pencil and stick it in the hole in the end of the prop shaft and spin the prop .If the shaft is bent the pencil will make it more pronounced and you will be able to see it.
