Wintertime crappie fishing

I'm off for about 12 days over X-mas and New Year. If the weather cooperates, I like to do some crappie fishing. Any crappie experts out there have any suggestions for some crappie hot spots this year? Locally, Kanopolis usually produces a fair number, but I would venture further if there were some good reports.

Anyone that wants to go is welcome, too.

My luck there will either be just enough ice to keep boats off, but not enough for ice fishing.

Might be tough finding some soft water this year. Melvern has been putting up some good numbers this year.
