After a year of second places I finally pulled off a win today and took BB. Had a great 18" Smallie and a 21.75" 6.4 pound LM and 3 others to round out the limit. The Fitzwater Gorilla Jig was instrumental in my success today. Thanks Richard for making the best jig on the market

I think I just found it...near Holton, KS? Interesting that the lake info does not even list smallmouth as being in the lake. Did you find a loner or is the info read online out of date?
yes the lake is near Holton,there was a couple of Smallies caught there last month at the youth State Qualifier,

You know, I've only been on that lake 3 or 4 times in the last 3 years and have won twice on it so I like it. I was unaware that there were smallies in it. This was the only one that I caught, but a friend says he has caught several there.

We didn't weigh all the fish. Kansas has that crazy law that to have a weigh in tourney you have to have the live release tank and all that... so it was a paper tourney. We just used an X-Tools scale in the boat to get an idea of how big the bigger ones were. Standings were determined by points based on total length.
