With gas prices coming down our club decided to fish our last club tournament at Truman. My friend and I left Friday morning for some pre/fun fishing. We caught fish everywhere we went! Many of them good quality keepers. The shad were in the backs of the covers and getting busted by the afternoon. I did manage one fat 19incher (pics to come)and between my friend and I we had about 8 Truman keepers. On Sat. the first day of the tournament my good luck had changed to bad! I was still catching fish but having more than my fair share jump off! I ended up with a small limit but my friend had a 20 1/4 and a 18 3/4. We paper fish so the rest of his limit was small but he was off to a great start! I was happy as he wanted to win non boater of the year. The 20 1/4 won him big bass for the day! Did i mention i was sicker than a dog this weekend and was even sicker when I went to get on plane and whacked a stump!
Goodbye a big hunk of my cavatation plate and some nice dings in my prop! Sunday started off well with us both catching fish on chatterbaits and tubes. I did manage to cull a few time and ended up with five fish that weighted 16lbs. Enough for the win and my non boater got second and wrapped up the co angler of the year! Drove home and my damn motor toter fell off out side of Ft. Scott. Some one told me in Iola! Had fun caught a lot of fish! Truman is on fire right now! Greg
