you will have just as good of a time (plus cheaper) if you go up to N. Dakota. JMHO though.

SoDak has more waterfowl hunting than you can possibly imagine esp. along the glacial lakes area in the Eastern part of the state. Non residents have to put in for a draw, though.

Canada would be double the cost, but a whole lot of fun.

Re: canada goose hunting trip (Champer196)

Anyone who loves to hunt waterfowl needs to go to Canada at least once. Sure, you can decoy birds the same down here as you can up there, but it is all about the experience. The people, the landscape, etc.

Your cost is going to depend on a lot of things. How many people go, what kind of vehicle, trailer, if you use a guide, where you stay, how much scouting/driving you do, how much you drink, fuel prices, exchange rate, etc. When we went we had 5 guys in a crew cab diesel pulling a 16 foot trailer. Fuel was a lot cheaper then and I ended up spending around $1500 when it was all said and done.

Things to remember in your budget-

    Passport
    Firearm license
    Hunting Licenses
    Ammo
    Booze
    Fuel
    Food
    Lodging
    Maps

Like Jack said, a little late for this year but if you start planning for next year, hit me up for some more detailed info. You won't regret making the trip.

If you know Tim well enough, you'd know those same items travel with him most of the time.
