    Break in ?

At how many hows does the Pro XS run at 100% power?

I have heard it takes like 40 hours and truth to that?

Depending on how well you followed proper break-in, the engine should be at "near-full" potential by approximately 10 hours, perhaps sooner in some cases.

Beyond this, most of these engines will begin to develop their "peak" horsepower around the 40 hour mark. This is not a "programmed" event- it's simply due to the fact that the engine is "run-in" by this point, and has "loosened up".

Our experiences here show that, depending on environmental and setup factors, you may see as much as 100-350 RPM difference between the 5 hour mark (when you're just making short WOT runs) and the 40 hour mark (by which time "all should be well" and operating normally).

So yes, there is some truth to what you were told.

+1. Time is the issue, as these motors develop "in excess" of their rated horsepower {usually}........give 'r' time and let it rip. :)

Wow I have 39 hours on my 225 Pro XS and it's always ran great. I'm really looking forward to developing my "peak" horsepower very shortly as I cross the 40 hour threshhold
