    225X Shift Issue

    2002 225X will sometimes hang up in forward or reverse and have to kill motor to keep from hitting dock, trailer, etc.

    I had this problem with a 280 once but do not remember the remedy. Has to be simple since I fixed it last time.

    You haven't happened to have the gear case off rescently have you? Mine did the same a few weeks ago, just replaced the impeller and it shifted fine on the trailer and at the ramp 2 miles away. Drug it 1000 miles away and was hangin up shortly after I launched. My shift shaft either slid up or I didn't get it all the way over the splines in the case and the linkage was draggin under the power head.

    I believe that was the issue on my 280. When I changed the impeller I didn't get all lined up correct.

    Not sure if the PO did some work as it has a new lower prior to purchase. First time I have had it out since purchase.

    JAY - is cable adjustment under cowl? Thanks.
