What tournaments are you going to fish this year:
Me:
ABA at Big Hill and Eldorado
The KBCF Buddy if time allows. Have fished it for many many years but the two day tournament thing hurts with my job.
Maybe some club tournaments depends on gas prices. It doesn't pay to drive 2 hours or more to win 40 bucks.
KBCF Qualifier if time allows.
A few odd and end tournamets here and there.

NOTHING if gas continues to go up. My gas bill last month was $1100 &*%#@ dollars!!! Thats without boat gas. Put tournament gas in the equasion and it will be well over 2K.


My truck is going bye bye. Keeping the wifes Tahoe and putting her in something like an Altima at 30 MPG. Use the Tahoe for the tow vehicle, huntin buggy and taking trips in. Hoping to cut that gas bill by more than half.

This will probably be my last competion year for a while. My daughter's JROTC Drill meets are scheduled on Saturdays. Currently I'm booked up with her the last weekend in January, 3 out of 4 weekends in February 2 weekends in March, 2 in April, and an entire week in May where we will travel to Florida for the national competition. So, since I agreed to hold office this year in my club as the Tournament Director, I will attend every tournament I can, but will have very little wiggle room for things like BBC Rallies or other trails. The next three years until she goes off to college I may have to curtail my competitive scheduled to support her. I have the rest of my life to fish, but she will only be young for a little while longer.

you probly had your house for a while though we got ours back in 2000/2001 and even with a $200 per month Escrow account ours is around $800 per month.....so I guess with just Mortgage alone.....its about double too

We moved here in 91. Brand new home on 20 acres and a nice pond out back. Paid 73K for it then. Realators appraised it at 250K last summer.

Not going anywhere anytime soon.

I will have to agree on my part that I have put Tourneys asside for a little bit (atleast the ones I have to put good $$ out for someon else to win it ) Being Owen was born I kinda felt Guilty about going off on them as much as I did (yes I have a constience).........plus I feel I want to spend more time with him Fishing on weekend then Dragging the Boat 100+ miles to fish for a day and drive back nto that I dont like the Company, comroddery and such.......I just feel more compelled to spend my gas money being on the water with him (and Gina) than going off twice a month just to fish anymore.......and like Jack said......with price of gas expected to hit $3.50 to $4 per gallon this year.......it will be pretty darn hard for me to come up with the $$ to afford going out of state too much. Even though I am planing on Fishing Pony Creek a little bit more this year......but may not ammount to much.

Just going to fun fish this year. Last year fished the KBCF buddy circuit but, with Gas, the two day tourneys which is bascially 2 nights in a hotel and meals for 3 days......just not going to be able to afford it. Going to tie on some roadrunners and go have some fun this year.
