    First time out

Heading to the woods tomorrow on some ground we have in Pretty Prairie, KS. I am excited being this is the first time to crawl up into the stand. Talking to my step dad he said that there has been some movement - so that will be good. Even if I don't see one deer it still will be a good day. Anybody else going hunting?

    Re: First time out (Bigbassbo)

This is going to sound wimpy, but I have sat in my stand so much last week I bulged a disk in my back. The combination of ladder stands in not ideal trees (You can't find a straight tree in Nebraska) coupled with three hours a night for better than a week really did me in. All day Sunday on the bulldozer probably didn't help much either.

Going to be on the dozer all weekend, as I need to fix my pond before the end of the year. Plus, I couldn't drag a deer in my present state anyway. I'll hit it hard again next week.

I won't be out, but hope it is better then black powder was. Saw a doe and fawn in the hole season and had one in thick grass smell me. All the traffic signs was on the non wind blowing side. But come gun season, I will have the closest wheat field and my luck will change.
