Thinking about heading down to Coffey County next weekend assuming the weather/wind works out. Has anyone fished for Smallies at Coffey this Spring? I've had good luck later in May at Coffey but haven't fished much inearly/mid April.

I haven't been there, but they had that lake listed in my In-Fisherman magazine as one of their hotspot destinations. Makes me wanna head out there too!![]()
I fished it last Feb. Didn't catch a smallie. Caught some decent LM and a ton of fat white bass. Then we had to get off cause of the wind.![]()

Sorry about being new to this board. How do I ask Melvern a question directly?
How will the cold/snow this week affect the fish at Coffey once we have a clear day? Sunday looks to be clear but I wonder about how the weather this week will affect the fish.
well, considering coffey county is a power plant lake, it wont affect it much at all...fish near the warm water discharge...jigs and cranks near the rock on the bank...melvin's email is bricklayer101@yahoo.com ask him...he's a great guy![]()
