Still having problems 95 Johnson 225

Ok guys, went thru all six carbs, cleaned, new gaskets, checked idle and high speed jets all looked good. Took it to the lake, starts easy, idles good, runs great WOT. Stop, fish for a while, starts easy, idles, runs good, ect. All seems ok for three or four run and guns and then it starts easy, idles good but you mash on the hot foot and she dies. Starts right up easy, idles fine then if you very slowly give it gas it will "catch" and run good again. Any Ideas ?

Have you checked the cylinder head temp?

Have you checked the recirculation system in the intake and front crankcase?

Re: Still having problems 95 Johnson 225 (ChampioNman)

Thanks Cm, The bottom photo is the start of that same hose, it appears to have the length for the airbox but could not find an attachment point for it. There is a small hole in the air box on upper port side near the top about the same diameter as the hose but very loose fit, on the bottom starboard side there is a fitting for that hose to attach to and is snug fit. The hose in question seemed to have a slight vaccum to it. Could I maybe missing a fitting on the upper port side of airbox ? Thanks again for your time,
    Bill

The upper pot side didn't have a fitting from the factory, it just sliped in....

The bottom of the top hose has a nipple it attaches to.

Thanks Rusty, Do they still sell a "reseal kit" or parts (seals) for the vro ? I was told they are throw away now and just replace the complete unit

If you buy a new "VRO"now, the improved model is completely repairable and parts are available, should you ever need them in the future.

Re: Still having problems 95 Johnson 225 (SEAHORSE)

Looking around this morning and tracing hoses I found this fitting laying in he bottom of the motor housing, it was lying in the front below the airbox, but motor had been trimmed up for ride home. In searching for open hole or ? I did see another one of these fittings on the starboard side middle of block, does this look familiar to anyone?
    Thanks
