    coolant modifications?

My engine ( 1999 225ho johnson) is almost ready. My question is this, my mechanic sent it to Marfab to have "the engine coolant modifications" done to it first. I trust him, he has done my work for twenty years, but I have failed to ask him what was the significance of this. Anybody shed any light? Did these motors have a specific problem cooling at WOT? Thanks!

It changes the cooling system to a low pressure system. These motors had an issue with cooling the #2 cylinder, and it helps there also... Marfab is a good machine shop that does work for shops all over the country... super nice folks and excellent work. I have dealt with them many many times over the years... you will be happy with the cooling mod.... this will explain it a little better for ya....

+1 on the Mar-Fab work Craig. Do they still recomment up jetting # 2 carb after the coolingmods or is it needed?

Not needed Mike. I have had it done to probably 10 motors from the house and always left the stock jet in #2 after the mod with great results so far.
