I would leave the original cable on the boat . Dissconnect from the motor and push it back into the boat letting it lay across the bilge area then run your new longer cable.

I understand that, which cable do I disconnect from the motor top one or bottom one? Yes I did order a 14ft cable, so I will have the extra 2 feet at the front of the boat. When I push the throttle forward I cant tell which cable is the throttle looks like both move at the same time?

You can press in the button on the center of the throttle and identify the throttle cable by moving the throttle lever. But to answer your question it is the lower one. The best way to feed your new cable is from the battery compartment to the hot foot. Watch the amount of cable loops as it can change the cable travel internally. One installed it would be a good time to check the sticky post above on throttle roller adjustment. When installing it on the linkage, press the linkage forward so it touches the timing cam. Then place the cable on the pin and adjust the black trunion knob to fit the cable holder.
