    rectiFRYer?

    My rectifier went bad today. Lots of smoke and almost a heart attack for me. anybody got one on a blown motor they wanna sell? e150 gletr. part number 0439561

    if it is just a rectifier wont a RAdio shack module at $4 do the same ?

    Chris is correct, better to buy new, they eliminated the purple wire, and they are better, ;IE don't wanna catch on fire so much....

    im just glad i didnt panic and spray it with the fire extinguisher....i just unhooked the battery and saved the day!

    Mine did the exact same thing last year and I replaced it with a new one and it went up in a cloud of smoke too Had to replace the stator and rectifier

    Did you have to run around to find a wrench to loosen the battery's hex nuts or did it have wing-nuts that were easily removed by using your fingers ?

    WINGNUTS ...I used my gerber tool that i keep in my cup holder thats what tightened it up and thats what loosened it. I have been reading and will be using hex nuts in the future with a wrench close by.
