Barren River Lake Corp of engineers.

On thursday afternoon I called Barren River Lake corps of engineers. I was checking to see what time they closed on friday, because I was going to go to their office and pick up a new ramp pass for this year. The lady Said, "We will be here til 4:oopm". I said, "I get off work at 3 sometimes a little later, and i need to come down and get a ramp pass. I should be there before 4 clock but if I cant Could I purchase a pass over the phone then They leave it outside the building for me to pick it up. But I should be able to get there before 4:00." She then told me If i am running a little late Then I can call them". I said, "ok but I should be there by 4:oo".
So I live and work in Edmonton. I managed to get off work little early to make it there before they closed. I called Their office after work. They answered, I asked to make sure they was still open til 4:00. A guy answered and said that they will be there til 4:00. I get there at 3:50. and the only person their was a maintance guy, and he said he couldnt sell me a ramp pass, because they locked all the stuff in a safe. I told him that the woman said she would be here till 4:00 clock. He was nice and said he was sorry, But they left at 3:00pm . This makes me very angry because
    1. She said they would be there til 4:00 and they wasn't.
    2. On way home I seen how far it was from my house to their office it was 35 miles one way!!!!!
So i drove 70 miles for nothing!!! They even got a extra day today off, For me too cool off. But I have not one bit. And they will be getting a phone call in the morning!!!!

Sorry for the rant but Just dont want anybody else drive there for nothing.

What ramps on barren do you need a corps pass for? and can you pay each day instead of getting a season pass?

The only ramps I have use on Barren are the state park and the one in the state park camp grounds and neither require and corps ramp pass.

The narrows, beaver creek. And the Ramp 1 @ green River lake. You can pay daily for $3 dollar a day. The pass good for a year is $30. IF I did the daily i would Burn $30 in about 3 weeks worth of daily passes.

Peninsula, Port Oliver, The Narrows, Beaver Creek, and Bailey's Point are the Corps operated ramps on Barren. You can pay each day, it's $3. I just get the pass cause it's $30 and I'm going to be on Barren, Nolin, or Rough more than 10 times.

Port Oliver is the ramp I use most often. That is one of the finest boat ramps I've ever seen.

we are all humans and make mistakes, (as I have many times). But they was nice about the whole thing.
