    Buds gun shop

Anyone ever trade with them in their retail store in lex. I have some guns still new in box would like to see if I could get decent trade value for towards something else. I don't want to give them away like a pawn shop though.
Also considered Borders in Ashland Ky.

They are fair for the poor economy but below what most want to expect.

I'll be honest, if you can sell it outright for a decent price then do it. If you don't mind taking a trade at a buyers cost and paying retail for the traded item simply to get what gun you want, then go for it.

I was neutral and got an "ok" price for trade on a new gun. I really wasn't looking to get top dollar nor was what I was bringing to the table top dollar.

My brother wanted to trade one of his AR's for a Kimber 1911. One was a colt tricked out and the other was a new bushmaster. He expected to get a good trade on the colt and the clerk working (young guy) was psyched about it. Easily over $1500 into it. The guy went over to consult with the manager and he came back bummed saying that they could only offer up $350 on trade even with all of the add ons, light, etc. The guy said he would be stupid to take that price and actually told him he would not let him do a trade deal if that was all they would give nor would my brother even consider it. He said they looked at it from the perspective that they would part it out and then sell the AR as stock for the average low price (make back their trade in value plus a couple hundred at best) and then make their money on the add ons separated. One was a $400-500 foregrip and light that the military uses and it was new. Sorry, I'm not an AR guy so I can't recall what kind, but they were both hard over it. Bottom line, they're good people, but they'll still make a buck off of you.

Again, wasn't negative, I did do a trade on a S&W Bodyguard but don't expect top dollar even for a mint or top gun in this economy and I can respect that.

If you do consider Borders in Ashland then consult with Jarred Seasor. He knows those guys and doe s a lot business on the fishing (and I think bow hunting) side. At ay rate, he'll fill you in on what to expect there.

got a couple of Savage rimfire rifles still new unfired in box, If I could get 75-80% of what I pd. I'd be ok with that, would be hard to sell a $450 gun for 150-200 bucks. I was hoping if I was going to spend the money in their store maybe they would be more apt to make a fair offer. Looking to get CZ .17 HMR bolt action or Browning T bolt .17 HMR . Henry Goldenboy be nice also.

It may be worth calling then if they are new and unopened in box as they do not have to see them to give a fair "used" assessment in price. They will probably tell you outright what they'd give for them NIB in trade for something on their shelf. I'd call and ask for sure in that case.

If you want to sell them outright you could try kentuckianafirearms.com heck you might find someone to trade with as well. I've bought and sold several there and never had an issue.
