For the ones that frequent the river alot in our area ,its time again for the coast guard/police crackdown for the next few weeks if you all havent read or seen in the news.So check your gear at least before heading out,for some reason they like to pick on the small boats instead of the big cruisers from my experience,

I was on the Ohio all day Sunday - saw one law enforcement boat running down the river. Coast Guard truck and trailer was parked at Cox. That's all that I saw.

i guess its due to the population.....i fish the ohio here at Paducah and have only been checked once and that was about 10 years ago.

Give it a few days i passed 2 coast guard boats on cane run today i dunno where they were heading as far as putting in ,and theres one sitting at the ramp at greenwood ramp.And a good buddy of mine is pulling detail on the lmpd boats for the weekend said they are going to rotate between 3-4 boats all week starting thursday.

What jurisdiction do the LMPD boats have? What do they even do on the water? I see them on the water from time to time, but have never seen them stop anyone or do anything.

mainly just patrol i guess and occasionaly get called in to back up coast guard/homeland security boats.And also covers ppl standing around on the shore stumbling into boats.Ive seen them cuff a few ppl and take them off of boats in front of tumbleweed and waterfront so im guessing they can nail you with a bui same as fish and wildlife or whoever.Hes just going along for the ride with his dog so i think you can figure out what else they are looking for,
