My cell phone has very little coverage at Barren. Can anyone suggest a cell company that has coverage over the whole lake? I was looking at bluegrass Cellular but I thought I'd check with you guys first.

Bluegrass is going to be about your only option. I have AT&T and it is very spotty on the lake. My partner has bluegrass and it does very good until you get way down around browns ford.
However Bluegrass's customer service is about as bad as you could imagine.
I have Verizon and get coverage almost everywhere on the lake.
Bluegrass and Verison share towers in this area. Bluegrass is just the local carrier.

I have AT&T and I have coverage nearly everywhere until I get down to Browns Ford. It cuts in and out a lot down that end of the lake.

I have bluegrass. It will work most anywhere in the state.

+1. I have AT&T as well and I have service about everywhere except Brown's Ford and parts of Peter Creek.
I have cincinnati bell and it has coverage pretty much everywhere down there except very far south. Cincinnati bell uses ATT network outside of greater cincy area.

Bluegrass By far. I live about 15 min from Barren on the Bowling Green Side. I fished about everywhere on Barren and have signal every where. I am on call for work, so I have to carry my work phone. We have had cingular (now AT&T), and Sprint, both of them WILL NOT have coverage all over the lake.
Thanks everybody, I was going to get a cheap phone just to have coverage, but I may just switch all together. I have Nextel & it just aint cuttin it anymore since I never use the two way.
If you got a nearby address you go to http://www.antennasearch.com and see the cell antennas and who owns them.
Basscat!
I've got AT&T and have good coverage. Could be your phone too. I got a new Samsung Captivate when they were first out and have coverage in alot of places that I didn't with my previous phone.
I have AT&T and like the others have said it is pretty good except up around Browns Ford and way up in Skaggs creek. Friend went with me before that had Nextel and he couldn't use his phone about all weekend. He even had trouble back at my camp on solid ground with that company. Sounds like guy that lives there is saying Bluegrass so that's who I'd listen to if I was you.
We have Bluegrass and have coverage all over the country ! Have talked to my wife while she was in Oklahoma as well as when I was @ G'ville last yr.![]()
