I don't think I could ever name any Indiana lake as best.
Maybe not the worst. If that is the case the Patoka and West Boggs. These would be the better of the most horrible lakes in the US.

I would have to say Patoka. A lot of people hate Monroe but if you know it, it can be really good.
Patoka for sure. Some nice Stripers in that lake too.
Patoka is my best lake. There isn't a lake in Northern Indiana thats better than the rest. They all suck.![]()
Lake Waveland, but I am biased as I grew up on the lake fishing it 4-6 days out of the week.
Our men's group at church is headed to Patoka in May - any tips where to fish for crappies or bass?
Thanks!
Post again a little closer to time and we might be able to help a little bit. We won't know what the grass is doing or the lake level is like until then.
Lake Lemon. Dont know about now but 10 yrs. ago in a 4 boat tournament we weighed in over 82 pounds! I have caught my 3 biggest bass at Monroe, but Lemon was a real jewel back in its day!![]()
man i hope the grass at patoka comes in better than last year![]()
West Boggs without a doubt.
Basscat!
After having lived in Indiana for most of my life and having fished almost everywhere there. I'd have to vote for Wawasee as number one, and Chapman Lake as number two. If you know how to fish weedlines, you can nail the fish up there big time.Much better than Patoka or any of the reservoirs. Mississinewa in it's prime was an excellent lake though back in the 70's and 80's. I think it's coming back after they drained it for work on the dam a few years ago.

Of course I talk to myself...sometimes I need expert advice.
What about Monroe? It was suggested that I fish there instead of Patoka when we head down in the spring.
