    Finding a job.

How in the heck does someone find a job in todays market. Every job want a bachelors degree with 3-5 years experience for jobs that 2 years ago were non degree jobs. I do not have a degree, but I have worked my arse off for over 20 years. I have worked as an engineer for Cummins Inc. for 6 years without a degree and ran my own business for the last 7 years and I cannot find anything but a retail store job that someone will hire a 41 year old non degree person for. That job will not even pay for my wifes medical bills each month. I am thinking my life insurance money is looking better for her everyday.

I agree hang in there. You don't need to be thinking like that.

The job sites like career builder and Monster are horrible. It is all the same stuff day-in and day-out. Start by using every personal resource you can find, friends and family and folks on here even. Also, you may not like it, but going to a recruiter may be the way to go since they know the best way to place you for the salary you need.

There is a company in Louisville called Aero Tek that does recruiting and job placements. Their niche is for jobs in the manufacturing business and they have all sorts of positions they do placement for. You may try to get in touch with someone like that. Good luck and hang in there!

I thought that things were looking up at Cummins?

About 7 years ago, I had to work an absolute shit job that payed nothing for a while until something opened up for me. I absolutely hated getting up every morning and was working 14 hours per day, but it payed the bills.

Hang in there. Something will turn up.

Dont give up. I was without a job for over 9 months after I was laid off after 23 years of service with one company. I am 44 years old no degree. I was ready to get rid of everything. I finally got a job...but its 50 miles one way to work now.
Just keep trying, hang in there, you will make it. I know you hear that over and over from everyone...but I have truly been there.
