So i get my bills to register my truck, car and boat. It adds up to almost 500. This is crazy. We have a 25 "wheel" tax per vehicle and there are pot holes everywhere. Doesn't make sense. My boat was almost 200 then you have to pay another 20 or 25 to be able to "launch" it at a lake. This is crazy stupid. I have a little car that is worh about 500 bucks and i have to pay 60 to be able to drive it.

It's really scary how broke Indiana Counties really are when it comes to their highway budget...and even scarier to see some of the bridges and drainage structures that are out there with school buses running over them.
That wheel tax really DOES help your roads. If you think they're bad now, hell imagine if you didn't have that wheel tax!!!
Many counties in Indiana don't have it, and really really need it in the worst way. With little to no state funding, it's amazing that they can get by with what they have.
There are some exceptions, like riverboat counties, but as a whole it's pretty bad.
